
He’s the grandfather of modern self-defence. A legendary martial artist whose journey of self-discovery and self-destruction on the doors of Coventry nightclubs was documented in the paradigm shifting memoir, Watch My Back. His breakthrough training methods such as Animal Day training changed the way self-defence was taught throughout the world in the 1990s. Since then, Geoff Thompson has written more than 45 books, stage plays, films, a musical and won a BAFTA. His martial arts journey has led to a profound spiritual journey, encompassed in his latest book, Notes From A Factory Floor.
It is my profound privilege to interview one of my personal heroes, and a man who inspired so much of my early work, the incomparable Geoff Thompson.
